SUN VALLEY — A worker sorting through trash at a reclamation center made a grisly find Saturday when severed body parts appeared on the conveyor belt, police said.
Police were called to the center, in the 9100 block of De Garmo Avenue, at about 11 a.m., said Sgt. Terry McBride of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division. Authorities found the lower torso and a partial leg of an adult male, McBride said.
Police do not know the victim’s identity or the cause of death. Foothill homicide detectives are handling the case.
