Tri-Counties Easter Seals Gets 2 Grants

Easter Seals Tri-Counties announced two grants it received from PacifiCare Foundation and 20th Century Insurance Co.
A $5,000 grant from PacifiCare Foundation will help support the Easter Seals preschool program, which assists children with developmental disabilities. The foundation is a philanthropic organization established by PacifiCare Health System.
A $1,000 grant from 20th Century will help support therapy programs and services offered by the Easter Seals facility in Ventura.
Bahai Group Gives Human Rights Awards
Bahai Communities announced the winners of its 1998 Human Rights Awards: Elsa Campbell of Santa Paula, Ventura County Supervisor Kathy Long and Camarillo-based Interface Children Family Services.
Campbell was honored “for creating opportunities for local citizens to acquire and improve the communication skills necessary to voice their needs and opinions.”
Long was recognized “for her emphasis on children and women’s issues, and for her dedication to improving health and human services in Ventura County.”
Interface was honored for its “urgent concern in taking care of all people in trouble.”
