DANA POINT

January is the official beginning of whale watching season in the city, believed by some to be a landmark for the giant mammals, which frequently gather off the city’s rocky point. The Dana Point Harbor Assn. invites the public to view the majestic California gray whales on their 5,000-mile migration down the coast from Arctic seas to Baja California. Local companies are helping in that effort by offering a variety of whale watching cruises, from chartered private trips to larger public outings. The Harbor Assn. has more information at: (949) 496-1094; Web site: https://www.danapointharbor.com.
