Valley Comes Up Short Despite Nuno’s 28 Points

Patricia Nuno scored 28 points but Valley College lost to Santa Barbara, 90-87, in overtime in a Western State Conference interdivisional women’s basketball game on Tuesday night at Santa Barbara.
Jessica Perez scored 35 points for the Vaqueros (11-2), ranked No. 20 in the state. Teammate Katie Pyle scored 27.
Tynisha Howze had 25 points and 18 rebounds for the Monarchs (11-6), ranked No. 11 in the state. Porsche McCallister had 16 assists for Valley.
Antelope Valley 70, Desert 64--Erica Yazzie scored 23 points and Alicia Parra had 15 points and eight assists for the Marauders (9-7, 1-0) in a Foothill Conference victory at Antelope Valley.
The Master’s 67, Fresno Pacific 64--
Sara Scheffer and Nikki Hover each scored 12 points for the Mustangs (13-4), who outrebounded the Sunbirds, 47-34, in a nonconference game at Fresno.
Biola 82, Cal Lutheran 75--Missy Rider sank a free throw with 10 seconds remaining in regulation to help the Regals force overtime, but Cal Lutheran fell in overtime.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Glendale 94, Hancock 82--Tony Hoggatts scored 21 of his 26 points in the first half for the Vaqueros in a WSC interdivisional victory at Glendale.
Denny Ogden made three of seven three-point baskets in a 14-point performance for the Vaqueros (14-4).
Canyons 74, Santa Barbara 55--Charles Madison scored 28 pointsfor the Cougars (11-8) in a WSC interdivisional victory at Canyons.
