‘Lady’ Focuses on Teenage Sex

Teenage actors will present “The Assembly: No Way to Treat a Lady,” a special presentation of an educational play about pregnancy, AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases and other concerns about teen sex, at La Mirada Theatre on Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Written by Bruce Gevirtzman and presented by Phantom Projects Educational Theatre Group, the play, which includes a post-performance discussion forum, focuses on abstinence. It will tour Southland middle and high schools from mid-March to May. La Mirada Theatre is at 14900 La Mirada Blvd. Tickets are $7. (562) 902-0119.
Active Art: Friends of the Junior Arts Center’s “Sunday Open Sunday” free workshops for children and families continues Sunday at 2 p.m. with “Poster Art With Artist Robbie Conal” at Barnsdall Art Park, 4800 Hollywood Blvd. Participants will work with the noted poster artist in the creation of a social commentary art poster using recycled material, and are invited to bring photos and other collage items to be included.
