Los Angeles-based BBDO West has appointed Ken Mandelbaum chief creative officer amid a strategic realignment of the agency, which creates ads for Best Western, Pioneer Electronics and Kal Kan. Mandelbaum replaces David Lubars, who left the agency to join Minneapolis-based Fallon McElligott. Mandelbaum, 30, was a co-founder of Mandelbaum Mooney Ashley and will be based in San Francisco, where BBDO West plans to reestablish an office. He will report to Ted Sanns, chief creative officer of BBDO, BBDO West’s parent company, in New York.
