Anaheim Hills Golf Course maintenance worker Ted Robles was recognized by the City Council this week for helping save a golfer’s life. Robles, 34, of Mission Viejo, administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation to Bert Altmann, 62, of Irvine on Nov. 30 before paramedics arrived. Robles received Fire Department-sponsored CPR training just two weeks before the incident. The council and Fire Chief Jeff Bowman lauded Robles for his quick actions. Altmann, who suffered a cardiac arrest and has a history of heart problems, called Robles’ willingness to help an “act of courage.” Robles, a 13-year city employee, said he was just happy to help: “I know what I did. I will never forget. . . . Me and Bert will be friends for life--a very long life for him.”
