Pond Expects to Have a Few Clipper Games
While the abbreviated NBA season makes it unlikely the Clippers will play their scheduled eight games at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, Pond officials expect the team to play several games in Anaheim, with dates and opponents dependent on arena availability and discussions with the Clippers.
“We have every intention of having Clippers basketball here this season,” Pond General Manager Tim Ryan said.
Those games might be the final ones for the Clippers in Anaheim. The team can opt out of its annual visits to the Pond at the end of each season and could play its entire home schedule at the Staples Center upon moving into the new arena for the 1999-2000 season.
