Petr Klima, who refused a demotion to the minors after failing to make the Detroit Red Wings in training camp, signed a contract with the team Monday and was immediately put on waivers. If he clears, he will be assigned to the Adirondack Red Wings of the American Hockey League.
Klima, 33, has 312 goals and 260 assists with five teams in 12 NHL seasons.

Francis Larivee was recalled from the Chicago Wolves of the International Hockey League, where he’d lost his only start.
