Steve Scoggin/Basketball
Mater Dei/Junior
Scoggin, one of the county’s premier three-point shooters, scored 18 points to lead the top-ranked Monarchs to a double-overtime victory over No. 2 Capistrano Valley. He made several crucial baskets, including one that gave Mater Dei its first lead. Scoggin scored 12 points in the second half and overtime to help Mater Dei erase a 36-19 halftime deficit.
