Gary Center officials announced Wednesday that the nonprofit organization--which offers substance abuse counseling, parenting classes and food distribution services--plans to expand its services and facility. The center will move its restorative dental clinic to a newly purchased site across the street and will expand its counseling services, which helped more than 4,400 people last year.
The center was founded in 1970 in honor of teenager Gary Stafford, who died of a drug overdose. Information on volunteering or making a donation: (562) 691-3263.
