Two parades will take place next month to commemorate the Vietnamese Tet holiday, a result of a schism in the group that held the parade last year. The City Council approved parade applications Tuesday night for the Little Saigon Cultural Arts Assn. on Feb. 20, and the Tet Parade Foundation on Feb. 21, provided the two groups meet all the permit conditions one month ahead of time. The association organized the parade last year, but disagreements among members led to the formation of a second group.
The council also approved a Tet festival to be held by the Union of Vietnamese Student Assn. on Feb. 13-14 on city-owned property at Monroe Avenue and 15th Street.
