GIRLS’ NOTES

Few teams have been hit harder by injuries than No. 2-ranked Crescenta Valley (14-2).

“I’m about the only healthy one and I’m the only one whose health doesn’t matter,” said Coach Damian Scribner, whose team plays Glendale in a key Pacific League game Friday and plays host to top-ranked Buena in a nonleague game Saturday.

Junior center Laura Zerebko sustained a season-ending shoulder dislocation last month.

Point guard Lar Chouljian recently returned from a five-game layoff caused by a dislocated elbow. Shooting guard Kristie Umemoto dislocated her jaw during a holiday tournament. Danielle Proctor has shin splints and leading scorer Sinnamonn Garrett has battled various scrapes and bruises.

“It’s gotten to the point where, when they take showers, I tell them to wear helmets,” Scribner said.
