Voit Cos. and Selleck Development Group will break ground in March on the second industrial phase of a San Fernando Valley development known as The Plant, on a site formerly occupied by a General Motors Corp. plant.
To build the second phase of two manufacturing and distribution buildings, the Woodland Hills-based partnership recently purchased an additional 7 acres of commercial land from Union Pacific Railroad Co. adjoining the Panorama City site.
Beginning in March, the partnership will build two buildings with a total of 208,800 square feet for Veratex Inc., a maker of bed linens that is relocating from Van Nuys, and another undisclosed tenant, according to Robert G. Lumley, Voit senior vice president.
The two buildings will bring the total industrial space in the park to nearly 800,000 square feet. It also holds a 35-acre retail development that is now 99% leased.
