Camarillo Firm to Buy Neurosurgeon’s Assets

Minimally Invasive Surgery Corp. in Camarillo, through its subsidiary Chiu Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Inc., has entered asset purchase and management services agreements with neurosurgeon Martin Savitz and Rockland Neurosurgical Practice P.C. in Nanuet, N.Y.
Under the agreements, Chiu is purchasing the assets of the practice and will manage the business and expansion through a long-term agreement.
“Dr. Savitz is a Harvard graduate and a very well-qualified and respected practicing neurosurgeon,” said Dr. John C. Chiu, Minimally Invasive Surgery’s chairman and chief executive officer. “This quality practice in New York provides [us] an entree into an area we expect will expand significantly within the region.”
Minimally Invasive Surgery wants to develop a national network of spine surgery and pain management / rehabilitation centers.
