Senate Confirms 3 Prison Wardens

SACRAMENTO — Three state prison wardens, appointed by former Gov. Pete Wilson and newly endorsed by Gov. Gray Davis, were confirmed unanimously by the state Senate on Tuesday.
The upper chamber voted 35-0 to approve Wardens Diana K. Butler of the state prison near Blythe, Thomas L. Carey of the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi and Lawrence F. Small of the state penitentiary at Calipatria.
They were appointed by Wilson last year.
