About 500 elementary students from Lomarena Elementary School will invade the Discovery Science Center today for Public Science Day. The Lomarena students have been gearing up for months to participate in the hands-on science exploration celebration, sponsored by the American Assn. for the Advancement of Science. Models of hillside homes and the effect of El Nino landslides that the children made for the event will be on display at the center for the next three weeks. Today’s event is from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Admission to the center, 2500 N. Main St. in Santa Ana, is $6 for children 3 to 17 and seniors, $8 for adults. Reservations are required through Jan. 31. Information: (714) 542-2823.
