Orange Unified School District trustees tonight will decide how to go about hiring a replacement for Supt. Robert L. French when he retires June 30.
The Board of Education could appoint someone from within or outside of the district. Another option is to hire a search firm, which typically takes five or six months to field candidates. There are about eight such firms in the state, school officials said. Administrators also could conduct their own search without the aid of a consultant.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in district headquarters, 1401 N. Handy St. Information: (714) 997-6221.
