LA PALMA

As part of ongoing efforts to improve La Palma’s image, officials are planning to spruce up a green swath that cuts through the city and name it the La Palma Promenade. The path, currently called the Edison right-of-way because Southern California Edison has its electrical towers along it, is a popular spot for walkers. Planned improvements--at a cost of $104,800--include 26 decorative lamp fixtures, 15 trash containers, 10 benches, monuments signs, some landscaping and pavement markings where the path crosses Walker Street.
