No. 10 Mater Dei 2, San Clemente 1--Nadia Gomez scored the winner 20 minutes into the second half. Mater Dei improved to 10-3-4, 2-1-3.
El Modena 3, Santa Ana Valley 2--Freshman Elonne Wilson scored the game-winning goal for El Modena (9-4-2, 4-0-1) late in the second half. El Modena junior Leaf Williams had two assists.
In the Empire League:
El Dorado 3, Loara 2--Sandy Stasch scored her third goal of the game on a breakaway with eight minutes left in regulation for El Dorado (11-7-2, 4-1). Betty Medina scored a goal and Ana Medina got her 17th of the season for Loara (10-5-1, 2-3).
In the Freeway League:
Sunny Hills 1, Troy 0--Loni Bishop scored in the eighth minute off a cross from Megan Broschak and Ashley Moskovich made two saves for her 12th shutout this season for Sunny Hills (14-2-5, 4-1). Troy is 4-11-3, 1-2-2.
In the Garden Grove League:
Garden Grove 2, La Quinta 1--Erin Griswold scored her second goal of the game on a breakaway in the 35th minute for Garden Grove (8-5, 5-1). Sarah Skinner scored for host La Quinta.
In the Sea View League:
No. 4 Woodbridge 2, Newport Harbor 1--Emily Schwimmer scored the game-winner in the 68th minute. Schwimmer also assisted Sierra Cristiano with the game’s first score in the 17th minute. Newport Harbor’s Janelle Doyle scored on a rebound off the crossbar with three minutes left in game. Woodbridge improved to 11-2-5, 2-0-3.
Fountain Valley 1, No. 7 Esperanza 0--Diane Neza, on an assist by Melody Mangrello, scored in the 70th minute. Laurie Perkins had 10 saves for the shutout. The Barons improved to 4-10-1, 1-3-1. Esperanza is 9-6-5, 3-2.
