Godecke, Simao Lead Fullerton to Victory Over Buena Park

Kristin Godecke and Katy Simao had two goals each to help lead Fullerton to a 7-4 victory over Buena Park in Freeway League girls’ water polo Thursday.
Breeze Alacantara had one goal and two assists for Fullerton (8-12, 2-2).
Goalie Amber Lohstroh had 16 saves and six steals for the visiting Indians.
In another Freeway League game:
Sonora 9, La Habra 5--Laura McNabb was a one-girl team, scoring all nine of Sonora’s goals. The Raiders are 10-5, 5-0.
In the Orange League:
Magnolia 12, Savanna 4--Magnolia a 5-1 first-half lead. Magnolia leads the Orange League at 3-0.
In the South Coast League:
No. 7 Capistrano Valley 13, Dana Hills 1--Capistrano Valley’s Ashley Stachowski scored eight goals, bringing her season total to 72. Sister Amber, a sophomore, scored four goals.
Dana Hills’ Coco Thorsen scored the lone goal for the Dolphins. League leader Capistrano Valley improved to 10-6, 3-0 in league.
In a nonleague game:
Cypress 14, Westminster 5-- Junior Michelle Slevcove scored a game-high six goals to lead Cypress (13-3, 1-0) to the victory.
In Academy League boys’ basketball:
Orangewood Academy 81, Southern California Christian 41--Starely Alvarado scored a game-high 31 points and teammate Warren Tamanaha had 18 points in the rout. Orangewood is 13-6, 3-3.
In Freeway League boys’ soccer:
Buena Park 4, Fullerton 1--Buena Park scored two goals early in the first half to remain undefeated in league play.
The Coyotes (11-7, 5-0), who have never won a Freeway league boys’ soccer title, were led by Elder Najera’s two goals.
