Robitaille Sends Message in Bottle

Luc Robitaille sent a “thank you” to his King teammates Thursday in the form of a bottle of champagne each, Dom Perignon ‘90, if you please.

The players had given Robitaille a big-screen television at a ceremony honoring his 500th goal, scored Jan. 7 against Buffalo.

“It’s so big I’ve got to knock out a wall in my house,” he cracked.

Defenseman and power-play quarterback Steve Duchesne, and winger Pavel Rosa were healthy scratches. King General Manager Dave Taylor denied a report on ESPN2 that Duchesne had been traded to the Philadelphia Flyers for winger Alexandre Daigle.
