Matching a service long offered by Aloha Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines will begin installing first-class cabins on inter-island flights in February; it already has them on flights from the mainland. On March 12, Hawaiian will also begin flying nonstop daily LAX-Maui, and on March 13, LAX-Maui-Kona three times a week. Round-trip fares for both routes begin at $439. Reservations: tel. (800) 367-5320. . . . All U.S. airlines, and 91% of international flights to and from the U.S., now ban smoking, the Department of Transportation reported. The latest addition is Aeromexico, which banned smoking on all flights except those to South America and Europe.
