CAMARILLO — Murder charges were filed Monday against a former employee of a Camarillo software firm who is accused of shooting to death his ex-boss Jan. 13.
Mikhail Khaimchayev, 29, of West Hollywood, is charged with killing Sheldon Snyder, 36, of Simi Valley with a firearm.
Khaimchayev had been fired from Postal Innovations at 5251 Verdugo Way in Camarillo more than a month ago.
Just after 2 p.m., Khaimchayev strode into the software firm, went into Snyder’s office and shot him several times with a handgun, police said. He then shot himself in the stomach, authorities said.
Khaimchayev has been hospitalized since the shooting, according to a statement released by the district attorney’s office. Officials at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard on Monday refused to release any information on Khaimchayev at the request of his family.
Khaimchayev is to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. today. Authorities from the district attorney’s office said they did not expect Khaimchayev to appear in court, citing his medical condition.
