Families that frequent Soroptimist Park on Pine Street can expect to see new playground equipment within the next two months. The City Council agreed Monday to buy $14,000 worth of play structures as part of a $50,000 park renovation.
In October, the council agreed to build a block wall on two sides of the park to protect the privacy of neighbors. Other construction includes repaving, new benches and tables, concrete curbs and new signs. Most of the funding comes from a federal Community Development Block Grant of $35,000, city officials said.
