What’s happening the next few weeks:
* The San Francisco Ballet’s 1999 season begins Tuesday with a “Best of Britain” program that will be in repertory with a “Sampler Program” through Feb. 14. The Britain program includes two premieres for the company: “The Invitation,” choreographed by Sir Kenneth MacMillan, and “Gala Performance,” a satirical look at the ballet world choreographed by Antony Tudor. * The 32nd annual California International Antiquarian Book Fair takes place Feb. 12-14 at the Concourse Exhibition Center, at 8th and Brannan streets, in San Francisco. The San Francisco Public Library will present a Valentine’s Day exhibition of materials from its special collections. * Swing Into Spring 1999, a series of programs presented by the San Francisco Jazz Festival, kicks off Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. with “A History of Jazz on Piano and Film,” hosted by famed jazz record producer Orrin Keepnews. Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette play--one of Jarrett’s first performances in two years.
