Seminars to Discuss Scripture, Daily Life
- Share via
The venerable Raitt Preaching Series of theological lectures, an annual tradition for decades at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana, next month will present F. Dale Bruner, a retired religion professor from Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash.
In a series of seminars Feb. 7-10, Bruner will talk about personal applications of scripture to daily life. Questions he plans to answer include “Who are you and who is Jesus?” and “Is Christ exclusive or inclusive?” Bruner will speak at the following times: Feb. 7 at 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Feb. 8, 9 and 10 at 6:30 and 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The series began in 1945 after family members created an endowment to honor Eva Brockett Raitt, a Santa Ana United Presbyterian Church leader who died in 1944. Raitt taught the Berean Bible class and was treasurer of the Women’s Missionary Society at her church.
Past speakers in the series include Tom Gillespie, president of Princeton Theological Seminary, and Gary Demarest, head of evangelism for the Presbyterian Church USA.
