VAN NUYS — A motorist was in critical condition Monday after suffering a heart attack and smashing his van into a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus, authorities said.
No one on the bus was seriously hurt.
The unidentified van driver hit the bus around 4:25 p.m. at the intersection of Sepulveda and Magnolia boulevards, according to MTA spokesman Gary Wosk.
Wosk said several people on MTA bus 234 complained of minor injuries following the accident. The driver of the van was transported to Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
The bus was headed south on Sepulveda and had stopped in the left turn lane at Magnolia. It was hit after the driver of the van, which was headed north, crossed over the center median.
