The City Council on Tuesday postponed voting on increases in pay and benefits for City Council members and planning commissioners. Although most council members agreed that a 5% standard of living increase on their stipend was reasonable for the next elected council, Councilman Harold Kaufman strongly objected to a $600 monthly health benefit and a $375 monthly car allowance for council members, and also opposed any financial compensation for planning commissioners. The council will consider the issue again on July 27. Information: (949) 248-9890.
