Lancaster Beats Storm, 7-4

Matt Sachse and Peanut Williams hit home runs off Jack McDowell in Lancaster’s 7-4 victory over Lake Elsinore on Thursday in front of 2,283 at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore.
McDowell threw 105 pitches in 7 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.
Tim Salmon is scheduled to start at designated hitter today in his first game of a rehabilitation assignment with the Storm (41-50, 11-10).

Williams hit a home run and a run-scoring single for Lancaster, but the JetHawks (31-60, 8-13) fell, 5-2, to Lake Elsinore on Wednesday.
Darren Blakely and Benji Simonton each drove in two runs for the Storm.

Triple A: Adam Kennedy (Cal State Northridge) had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs for the Pacific Coast League in the Triple-A All-Star game in New Orleans. The PCL defeated the International League, 9-5. Kennedy, who plays for the St. Louis Cardinals’ affiliate at Memphis, hit one of five two-out singles in the eighth inning that produced a five-run rally and erased a 5-4 deficit.
Class A: Mike Glendenning (Crespi, Pierce) hit his 20th double for San Jose (Giants) in a 6-4 victory over Bakersfield. . . . Andy Wilson (Thousand Oaks, CS Northridge) had his 16th stolen base and is batting .300 for Rancho Cucamonga (Padres). . . . Andy’s younger brother, Jack Wilson (Thousand Oaks, Oxnard College) scored three runs and had one hit for Potomac (Cardinals) in a 9-8 victory over Myrtle Beach. Wilson is batting .348. . . In the same game, center fielder Junior Brignac (Cleveland) of Myrtle Beach hit his fourth home run and a double.
