Staff is recommending that the City Council on Tuesday approve a pay increase for part-time employees. The suggested raises range from 1.1% for a police cadet to 11.7% for an apprentice firefighter or reserve police officer trainee. The suggested raises would become effective Saturday. The raises would cost the city an estimated $18,000 and affect about 60 to 80 employees, said Personnel Director Scott Malkemus. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers, 1 Civic Center Circle.
