Buena Park’s Okoro Commits to UC Irvine

Matt Okoro, a 6-foot-6 forward from Buena Park High School, has committed to play basketball at UC Irvine, Buena Park Coach Ed Matillo said Sunday.

Okoro, who averaged 15.6 points, 14.2 rebounds and set the school record for career rebounding, helped Buena Park (20-8) reach the second round of the Southern Section Division II-AA playoffs. He was a first-team all-Freeway League selection.
