In Orange Empire Conference softball:

Cypress 1, Riverside 0--Heidi Lockwood singled home Nicole Falls with one out in the bottom of the seventh for the winning run. Falls had tripled to center with one out to get into scoring position for the Chargers (17-3, 1-0).

Golden West 10, Orange Coast 2 (6, mercy)--Golden West leadoff hitter Roxie Packard had four infield singles to raise her batting average to .514. Freshman Laura Ashcraft (2-2) pitched a seven-hitter for Golden West (7-4-1, 1-0).

Saddleback 7, Irvine Valley 0--Tara Kroener pitched a no-hitter for the host Gauchos (12-2, 1-0). Kroener (9-1) struck out eight. Anne Skidmore went three for three with a home run and two RBIs. Betsy Holman had two hits, including an RBI triple, for Saddleback.

Santa Ana 2, Fullerton 0--Erica Pilkington pitched a four-hitter, striking out six and walking one, for Santa Ana (2-6, 1-0).

In Orange Empire Conference men’s tennis:

Grossmont 8, Orange Coast 1--Margo Verhagen and Shannon Gibson won in doubles, 6-4, 6-0, for Orange Coast (4-3, 3-1).

In Orange Empire Conference men’s volleyball:

Orange Coast 3, Golden West 2--Ryan Rex had 18 kills and Nicholas Dominik and David Moser each had 17 for Orange Coast (7-0, 5-0), which won, 17-16, 15-12, 6-15, 6-15, 15-13.
