Sprinklers Flood Administration Hall

SANTA ANA — A small fire Thursday night at Orange County’s Hall of Administration set off the sprinkler system, which flooded the fourth floor with four inches of water before firefighters managed to turn it off.
“There must have been a few thousand gallons,” said Jim Dalton, chief of the Santa Ana Fire Department, after taking a tour of the five-story structure. The origin of the 7 p.m. fire was unknown.
