Several organizations have created a program to teach people how to prevent and manage asthma in children 3 to 5 years old. The kickoff for the “A” Is for Asthma program is Wednesday, 9 to 11 a.m., at the Buena Park Head Start Center, 6725 Dale Ave. The program eventually will take place at all 39 county Head Start centers. Orange County Head Start, Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Baxter Allegiance and the American Lung Assn. of Orange County developed the program. It includes screenings, an education program for preschoolers and parents, and training for day-care workers. Information: (714) 835-5864.
