Citing sleepless nights because of concern over the threat of chemical warfare, a Tustin Memorial Academy first-grader wrote a letter to President Clinton. And Monday afternoon, James Taylor, 7, is expected to receive a phone call from a presidential office Clinton initiated that aims to correspond with America’s students.
“Recently, a 10-year-old friend told me of a certain man in another country that . . . was planning to create something that could destroy the whole world,” James wrote. “Since then, I can’t stop thinking of it and the thought of it keeps me up every night . . . [signed] Sleepless in Tustin.” James hopes the call will ease his concerns.
