The City Council on Tuesday is expected to support a $200 fee for processing failed petitions. State law allows the city to charge the fee to offset costs for processing petitions. But the city must refund the fee if election officials certify the petition within one year. The council meets at 7 p.m. in chambers, 25201 Paseo de Alicia, Suite 150. Information: (949) 707-2600.
