A local businessman recently asked city officials to abandon an alley adjacent to their proposed retail center, at 1013 S. Main St., so he can build there. The alley is between Main Street and Cypress Avenue. The alley is rendered obsolete with the realignment of McFadden Avenue, which connects the east and west legs of Main Street. A public hearing on the resolution is set for April 5.
