PTAs at 4 Schools Honored by State

The state Parent Teacher Assn. has recognized the PTAs at Ladera Elementary, Lang Ranch Elementary, Los Cerritos Middle and Westlake High schools as being among the best in the state. The designation acknowledges the high level of parental support at Conejo Valley schools.
The schools were selected from more than 3,000 PTA groups across the state. Representatives of the four PTAs will receive the awards during a state convention in May.
The four schools have close ties. A large segment of Lang Ranch’s student body transferred from Ladera when Lang opened in September. Students from both schools often move on to Los Cerritos Middle School and ultimately Westlake High. Both Lang Ranch and Los Cerritos received creative membership awards, while Westlake High received a student involvement award. Ladera was singled out as providing an outstanding overall program.
Lori Stenovich, Ladera PTA president, said it was nice to be recognized for the programs.
