At the request of the Chamber of Commerce, the City Council voted Tuesday to purchase a permanent Christmas tree for La Plaza Park. A 15- to 20-foot Deodar cedar would cost about $3,000 and would be decorated each year by students from R.H. Dana Elementary School before the annual tree-lighting ceremony. For the past six years, the chamber has provided a small tree for the annual holiday events. Information: (949) 248-9890.
