Abortion Deaths

Re “Blackmun, Author of Roe Vs. Wade, Dies,” March 5: Gloria Steinem is quoted: “Justice Blackmun saved more women’s lives than any other person in history.”
At the expense, one might reasonably add, of the deaths of 38 million unwanted babies since surgical abortion was legalized in 1973 by the U.S. Supreme Court. And each one of those babies--up until the moment of terror--could be seen on an ultrasound--tiny, defenseless, yet seemingly so safe in mother’s womb.
I frankly doubt that any of those poor souls who made that decision have ever been able to convince themselves that God gave them the right to do it.
