Surprise Contender From Out of Texas

The surprise hit movie “She’s All That” has generated a surprise hit single. “Kiss Me,” by the Austin, Texas-based, spiritually tinged pop band Sixpence None the Richer, has climbed to No. 6 on the Southern California singles chart. Helping sales of the single and the band’s self-titled album, which includes the song, is the absence of a soundtrack collection from “She’s All That.” On the album chart, TLC remains No. 1 in both the region and nationally.
