BUENA PARK — A man entered a girls’ locker room at Buena Park High School early Monday and attacked a 16-year-old girl as she was changing clothes for a physical education class, police said.
The girl was not seriously injured.
Buena Park Police Sgt. Ken Coovert gave this account of the incident, which occurred shortly after 7 a.m.:
Several girls had been dressing while the attacker was apparently hiding in the locker room. He emerged and put a rope around one girl’s neck, then pulled her to the floor. She screamed and three classmates rushed to her aid. The attacker fled.
Police were still searching Monday evening for the attacker, described as 17 to 20 years old, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 130 to 150 pounds, with dark, short hair and brown eyes. Authorities said he was wearing a blue swimsuit and a hooded blue sweatshirt.
