About 50 chorus students from Pat Nixon Elementary School in Cerritos performed at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace on Tuesday to celebrate what would have been the 87th birthday of the former first lady. The students, in grades four, five and six, sang spiritual and historic songs. To mark not only Pat Nixon’s birthday but also St. Patrick’s Day, the students sang “My Wild Irish Rose,” one of her favorite songs. Pat Nixon died June 22, 1993. A special exhibit featuring 15 rarely seen photographs of the former first lady, entitled “A Birthday Tribute to a First Lady of Legend,” will be on display through March 31 at the library, at 18001 Yorba Linda Blvd. Information: (714) 993-5075.
