* “Beware Unlicensed Clinics” (editorial, March 2) misses the main cause of why so many [immigrants from] Latin America can’t depend on licensed clinics or doctors. They just can’t afford the high-priced medical bills. Even though there may be “low-cost health care,” it doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone will qualify.
My mother has been waiting for her approval card from MediCal for about four months already. What if she gets ill right now, but does not have any insurance?
