In a consolation game:
Orange Lutheran 6, Trabuco Hills 3--Laura Miklos and Jessica Edwards combined for 14 strikeouts for Orange Lutheran (4-3). Edwards also had two hits.
In the first round of the Mohave (Ariz.) Tournament of Champions:
Mohave (Ariz.) 1, Canyon 0 (9 innings)--Canyon pitchers Lindsey Klabacha and Pookie Del Mazzio held host Mohave (5-0) to two hits and one unearned run.
El Toro 9, Las Vegas Silverado 1 (5, mercy)--Susan Churchwell (2-0) didn’t allow a hit for El Toro in the first-round game. Churchwell also had two hits for the Chargers (2-0).
Mater Dei 7, Lake Havasu 0 (6, mercy)--Courtney Betley, Marissa Young and Tia Bollinger each hit a home run, accounting for all of the Monarchs’ scoring. Young (2-0) also pitched a no-hitter.
Pacifica 6, Yuma (Ariz.) Cibola 0--Shortstop Diana Barreras had two hits and scored twice for Pacifica (2-0). Nicole Pickett tripled in the third inning, picking up two RBIs for the Mariners.
Woodbridge 6, Salt Lake City Taylorville 0--Natasha Watley had two hits and two RBIs for Woodbridge (5-1).
In nonleague softball:
Capistrano Valley Christian 9, Laguna Beach 3--Jill Jeranko had two triples and two RBIs and winning pitcher Lauren Capriotti struck out 10 for host Capistrano Valley Christian (2-2).
Fairmont 4, Connelly 1--Missy Lucia’s two-run single highlighted a four-run first inning for visiting Fairmont (1-1).
Sonora 2, Rosary 1--With two on and one out in the sixth, Sonora’s Stephanie Santana lined a single up the middle to score Cacie Goetz from second for the go-ahead run. Sonora is 7-1.
Los Amigos 2, Savanna 1--Savanna (2-4) scored an unearned run in the top of the fourth, but Los Amigos designated hitter Jennifer Correa singled to break the tie in the bottom of the inning for Los Amigos (7-2).
Santa Ana 11, Bolsa Grande 3--Sophomore Michelle Paz had three hits and five RBIs for visiting Santa Ana (4-4).
