Registration Open for Equivalency Exam
Registration is open for anyone interested in taking the high school equivalency test.
Those who pass will receive a Certificate of Proficiency, which is equivalent to a high school diploma.
The three-hour test will be given April 24 at the Ventura County office of education in Camarillo. Registration forms must be submitted by April 7.
The exam is open to those 16 or older, whether enrolled in school or not. Those under 16 can take the test if they have completed the 10th grade or are enrolled in the second semester of their sophomore year.
If students under age 18 pass the exam and would like to leave school before graduation, they must have their parent’s permission.
Copies of the Information Bulletin, with sample questions, a list of test sites and a registration form are available at all public and private high schools and libraries.
More information can also be obtained by calling (916) 383-9506 or on the Internet at https://www.chspe.com.
