* Lock and load. Now the “NRA, Gun Makers Seek Legislation to Ban Suits” [March 9]. This after years of opposing legislation that would outlaw assault weapons, limit the sales of handguns and ammunition or require protection against unintended use of firearms. I am forever incensed that the NRA holds its claim or a right “to bear arms” above our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
May I suggest a new bumper sticker for the NRA: “Lawsuits don’t bankrupt gun makers; injured plaintiffs with lawsuits bankrupt gun makers.”
