Susan Spano tiptoes around the word “homosexual” in the Her World column (“Women Both Gay and Straight Get a Warm Welcome in Palm Springs,” March 7), but my spouse and I refuse to observe the Californian deference to people who have sex with their own gender. Homosexuals openly displaying eroticism offend a great many men and women, mostly Christians and Muslims.
The last time we went to Palm Springs we were dismayed to find that nine out of the hundred or so hotels and motels had become openly homosexual, including three we had previously stayed at. Dozens of others advertise in the Palm Springs hotel guide as “gay” or “lesbian.”
Palm Springs has become a homosexual mecca, and I would strongly recommend against it for families or teenagers.
