Students from the Orange County High School of the Arts will display their talents in classical and contemporary dance at Cal State Long Beach next week.
Ballet students will present George Balanchine’s classic “Serenade,” which will be staged by Victoria Simon, a former principal dancer for the New York City Ballet. Also included are choreographer Donald McKayle’s “Rainbow Etude” and other contemporary dance performances.
The show will be at Cal State’s Martha B. Knoebel Dance Theatre, 6200 Atherton Road in Long Beach. Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with a Saturday matinee starting at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 if bought before the show and $10 at the door.
